NW, and all that are left,
I am still here and plan on staying with CVUS. No point in leaving now. I found this in my mailbox tonight, some interesting LMDS news.
I for one am still looking forward to the 10K and anything else that the company has to show or tell us.
Maybe there could be a relationship here with CVUS and Belstar??

Three recent news stories involving LMDS:

Industry Leaders Form New LMDS Company: BELSTAR Systems Corp.
01:06 p.m Apr 07, 1998 Eastern
DENVER, April 7 /PRNewswire/ -- MicroStar, BEL-Tronics and the Akcess Pacific Group today jointly announced the formation of a new systems integration company, BELSTAR Systems Corp., created to focus on providing end- to-end solutions for the LMDS (Local Multi-point Distribution Service) market.

BELSTAR will pursue several paths simultaneously including demonstrating its capability through the construction of a model commercial system utilizing the 42,820 household and business LMCS (the Canadian equivalent of LMDS) regional operating license recently acquired by the Canadian subsidiary of MicroStar International, a BELSTAR company. As part of this LMCS license, BELSTAR's subsidiaries have agreements with other Canadian LMCS licensees including WIC and RegionalVision. Additionally, BELSTAR will pursue alliances with other leading LMDS equipment developers and actively market its LMDS solutions to potential operators in the U.S., Canada, and other countries. It is the goal of the BELSTAR to be able to service much of the "backlog" of equipment orders for LMDS/LMCS systems which has built up over the last several years.

LMDS services, pioneered by CellularVision, use microwave signals to transport high-speed data, voice and video from a single point in a cell to multiple points in that cell. Consequently, a single wireless LMDS transmitter can cover an area with a radius of several miles without the need to dig up streets or yards to bury wire. The FCC recently closed auctions for LMDS spectrum that resulted in $579 million dollars in net revenue for the government.

BELSTAR has already reached agreements with network component manufactures and will continue to pursue others in an effort to continue to improve the economic business case for its customers. The company has access to microwave manufacturing capacity from companies that have demonstrated competencies in the development and manufacturing of low cost, high performance microwave products. BEL-Tronics, a Canadian company that was recently acquired by The Akcess Pacific Group, designs and manufacturers high-quality, high-quantity, high-frequency radio devices, has provided manufacturing and engineering support for BELSTAR's low-cost two-way transceiver.

BELSTAR has an impressive list of technical, managerial and financial accomplishments that are outlined briefly below. Members of the BELSTAR team have held key technical and management roles at: Bell Labs, Stanford Research Incorporated, David Sarnoff Research Labs, Ameritech, ECHOSTAR, Norstar Multimedia, Hewlett Packard, Norsat, TCI, General Electric and Ryerson Polytechnical Institute.

BELSTAR Management Team Financial and Technical Accomplishments

* Actively Managed 22 acquisitions and startups with 79% compounded

annual return rates

* $500m total capital deployed and managed with up to 4500 employees

* Constructed LMDS demonstration systems in Macao and Brazil

* Built MMDS turnkey systems in 12 countries

* Intellectual Property creation resulting in 9 patents, 7 of which

relate to low cost, consumer driven, microwave circuits up to 40 GHz

* Created low-cost transceivers at 38 Ghz and 28 GHz

"The key to economically successful LMDS deployments is the equipment installed at the customer's location," said James Plante, Vice President of Business Development at BELSTAR. "A single hub transmitter can service thousands of customers, so if LMDS is popular, the costs that have to be closely monitored are those at the customers' sites. We have the patents and experience to provide low-cost, millimeter wave solutions as well as the manufacturing capability to produce the industries lowest cost customer premise equipment, which is vital to the successful acceptance of LMDS. And with the addition of MicroStar's point-to-multipoint systems integration experience BELSTAR Systems Corp. will have the ability to deliver one of the industries most competitive end-to-end LMDS systems."
