Now suppose you'd been wronged by a bully with a big chunk of cash (and a Daddy M with another big chunk of cash). And supposing you owned a whole bunch of somethings that that bully really wanted BAD, so BAD he could almost taste it. And supposing that that bully had done some really stupid things, enormously stupid things that a judge & jury would find outrageous, wanton, dangerous and uncivilized. And supposing that you decided to close your purchase of the whole bunch of somethings and to proceed in civil court for damages while the bully and Daddy M wanted to negotiate to buy your whole bunch because they needed them BAD, really BAD. Don't you think that the bully and his Daddy M (who need to try as best they can to save face with their backers) might be convinced to part with their big chunks of cash (totalling $100,000,000 approx) in order to buy the bunch of somethings and a little peace? I do.
