_scott I swear they read our posts daily... Instant news after my comments of awaiting new contracts shows a few of IAI's new jobs. Just a cross section. This underscores my opinion that whatever problems VIAS and the others have have NOTHING TO DO with IAIC. The assocoation of IAIC with these others is just an indication of ignorance of the facts on the part of some segment of the public. __________________________________________________________ Information Analysis Gets Four New Year 2000 Contracts; IAI's 'Solutions Factory' Will Remediate Three Million Lines of Code __________________________________________________________ FAIRFAX, Va., April 8 /PRNewswire/ -- Information Analysis Inc. (Nasdaq: IAIC) today said it has received four new contracts to provide Year 2000 products and services. Collectively, the contracts represent remediation of approximately three million lines of code, and revenue to the company in excess of $1.7 million. Three of the four contracts were received through IAI's technology partnership with Computer Associates International, Inc. (NYSE: CA). The contracts include: -- One of Canada's largest chartered accountants and consulting firms, for which IAI will provide date remediation on approximately 1.1 million lines of mission-critical code using IAI's UNICAST/2000 family of software tools. The remediation work will be done on CA's CA-ADS and CA-IDMS COBOL computer languages and will be performed in IAI's Fairfax solutions factory. The order also contemplates the use of IAI to provide post-remediation testing for the customer's code. -- A major southwestern U.S. university, for which IAI will remediate 500,000 lines of CA-ADS and CA-IDMS COBOL. The remediation will also be performed by IAI using the UNICAST/2000 software tool, which is jointly developed and marketed by CA and IAI. -- A nationwide portrait studio chain, for which IAI will provide assessment, planning, and date remediation on approximately 1.1 million lines of CA's fourth-generation languages being used in a variety of applications on the customer's mainframe computers. The remediation will be performed using UNICAST/2000 and will be done in IAI's Fairfax solutions factory. -- An East Coast metropolitan university, for which IAI will provide full Year 2000 services, including evaluation, remediation and testing, on more than 200,000 lines of COBOL code. CA's languages have been used to write thousands of mission-critical mainframe applications over the past decades. With the approach of the year 2000, many of the mission critical programs written using these languages may not handle the century change correctly and need to be fixed. "Solution factories" are typically facilities that remediate millions of lines of code for different organizations, fixing the code on mainframe computers of the same type where the applications currently run. Because they can remediate a large volume of code in a very short time, these factories provide a highly efficient, cost-effective way for organizations to fix their applications. "We saw a flurry of orders in March, and what we are reporting today is only a representative selection of new business," said Sandor Rosenberg, IAI's Chairman and Chief Executive Officer. "Over the next few weeks, we hope to provide more specific information on other new customers." IAI is currently providing Year 2000 services to 17 customers in its Fairfax solutions factory. Last week, the company expanded its solutions factory by an additional 19,000 square feet in support of its goal of an in- house remediation capability of 400 million lines of code annually. "We're looking forward to delivering back Year-2000-compliant code to these customers swiftly and efficiently," said Stan Reese, IAI's Vice President of Professional Services. "Each customer has presented us with an aggressive schedule which, in turn, provides them ample time to test and verify that their code is compliant. Our task is to meet that schedule without compromising the customer's code."
