For those of you who like to fret about things, here is a little something to fret about:

Powerful wave disrupts China satellite
BEIJING, April 8 (UPI) _ A mysterious electromagnetic wave has disrupted China's real-time earthquake warning system and is wreaking havoc with stock brokerages nationwide.

The State Seismological Bureau says the powerful wave will not paralyze the early warning system but constant disturbance has slowed the flow of information to earthquake experts.

Bureau official Zhou Sumin (''Joe Sue-mynn'') says the wave is 100- times stronger than normal and began disrupting the Apstar-1 satellite on March 14.

Real-time data transmission via the satellite has affected work at nine seismological bases that rely on digital technology.

The wave has also affected more than 400 stockbrokers and some 100 pager services that depend on the satellite.

Zhou says Chinese scientists are still working to determine the origin of the phenomenon.
