[ REGN/CBST ]

Ray:

An entry on the old list, REGN, popped again today......
Message 4000859

OK, you've said to bring you stocks that present special situations, even if they're not a STOry. Could you please take a look at CBST? A pure, respected play in antibiotic-resistant bacteria, it's beaten down in the face of the expansion of a Merck agreement and other positive developments. Good microbiology, great chemistry, the company looks cheap, cheap, cheap. Back later with further discussion if there's demand.

Ray/Carol/NEPF... you've asked me for opinions of given companies. I haven't ignored the requests. I've just wanted to give you detailed opinions, on companies that I don't usually follow and often in areas that I don't know well. This has overwhelmed me given a recent work load, and I apologize. From now on, I'll give half-assed opinions, quickly. ;-)

Ray..... Biopool.... until I moved north a few months ago, they were very near to where I lived. Seemed to be a sincere effort to break into a variety of clinical lab reagents, characterized by aggressive management. The facilities, which I never checked out, were in a modern building in Ventura. I don't follow reagents for the clinical (hospital) lab, but I was impressed by the company when I briefly looked at them in (?) '96. If they ever hit it big time, they are located to conveniently pick off staff from Amgen. Seems like lots of the pieces were in place for success, but, again, I didn't take a close look.

Rick

Ray,
It would really help everyone using Silicon Graphics if you would discuss one stock at one time. When you issue a series like:
(LCAVT/TRIF/SRMI} you blow three threads to smithereens.
It may be useful for your one message but it completely destroys the individual threads for all three stocks. Thanks.

[SRMI] Hi Ray...

I've been in the background just lurking.
I'm surprised to hear you are still holding SRMI. I thought it may have been one of the ones you dumped when you cleaned out your portfolio. Or did you just get back in?
I'm still holding my shares but I'm not gonna average down this time. The convertibles worry me.

I know you shy away from BB stocks, but I've been doing well with WAVX.I think it's a keeper and will probably average up on it.
Also ready to get back in ONPT.

What about STRR? Should I take losses or hold on?

Thanks Ron.

Hay, Ray,
You must be raking in the hay on those three. I have been tracking them, but am plumb out of cash and credit until white candle days are
certain for the Swiss folks.
Heed my admonition and call your doctor.
George
