------------------------------------------------------------------------
Title: W-CDMA, TD-CDMAProject:UMTSCountry:n/aNotes: Qualcomm Inc. have stated that they own IPRs which are part of the definition of both W-CDMA and TD-CDMA systems and are therefore essential for both proposals. Qualcomm is manufacturing products for IS-95 and related standards (collectively known as cdmaOne standards) and has licensed its IPR to more than fifty companies for use in cdmaOne standards on reasonable terms and conditions free from unfair discrimination. Qualcomm continues to study both systems being proposed for selection by ETSI for the UMTS standard and are carefully considering their IPR position relative to licensing should either of these systems be adopted. Qualcomm shall inform ETSI promptly after they have reached their conclusions.
