Tokyo,

What is my point? I think the question is what is your point??

First, I clearly stated in my post that insider buying is only one indicator that one should use and should not be relied on exclusively to make investment decisions.

Second, insider buying is much more important than insider selling because people sell stocks for many reasons but only buy stocks for one reason. Some of the reasons people sell stocks are to offset gains in other stocks, to pay for a major purchase, to diversify their portfolio, etc, and none of these have anything to do with their opinion on the stock that they are selling. However, the only reason people generally buy a stock is because they think it will go up.

Third, you noted that the price of EGHT went down after an insider bought last year. Big deal; that's just a single example and I don't think it can be generalized. The following statement came from insidertrader.com which provides a summary of insider buying and selling.

This SEC information is a great source of investment ideas and is also invaluable for following stocks you already own. After all, who's in a better position to know a company's prospects than its own management. You may not know what they know, but you can know what they do! Academic studies and the success of money managers have both confirmed this common sense conclusion.

I'm just curious if you have a position in LNET. You seem highly critical of anything that I have ever posted here. I didn't buy LNET because of insider buying but I do think it's good news that Mr. Flinn bought the stock.

Dan

To all:

LodgeNet Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary, Eric R. Jacobsen sold 4,000 shares of stock on April 1st at $11.25

Does this mean that we should view this as a negative?
