Dr. Solomon (Solly) reported good earnings today and SOLLY drops 3 buckaroos. I wonder the reason for the drop. NETA drops in sympathy with SOLLY by dropping more than 2 buckaroos. Both stocks should be going up when they are expected to beat earnings. This is a nervous market and consolidation is still on going. I was pleased to hear on Wall Street Week last Friday, the Value Line guest kept emphasizing the software group as separate from the technology group in general. He liked Microsoft, Peoplesoft and almost mentioned NETA but his time ran out......

TD, When you fire all of the engineering talent in Beaverton and Nashua how can that be considered a consolidation. Make no mistake about it; NETA is getting out of the performance analysis market The help desk group is Herndon was given the option to move to Calif. not New Jersey where Magic is located. If I use your consolidation argument then the Magic engineers will be moved to Calif. in the very near future. Since Magic is in the middle of a major upgrade to their product line, moving from a 16 bit code base (Windows 3.1 and/or Novell) to a 32 bit code base (Windows 95 and/or WindowsNT) the consolidation of the Magic engineering team to Calif. is unlikely. The Magic upgrade is scheduled to be completed in Q3 1998. HOWEVER, IF I WORKED IN THE MAGIC ENGINEERING GROUP I WOULD HAVE TO WONDER IF THE ACTIONS OF LAST MONDAY ARE A FORESHADOWING OF THINGS TO COME?
