BOCA RATON, Fla., April 8 /PRNewswire/ -- Lakeside Software, Inc. today
announced that it has joined the Citrix (NASDAQ:CTXS) Business Alliance
Program. At the Citrix Solutions Network Worldwide Conference in Boca Raton,
Florida, Lakeside Software previewed for Citrix channel partners the SysTrack
applications and systems management software that it will announce during the
Spring Comdex show later this month.
"We are excited about the prospect of working with Citrix to bring
SysTrack management capabilities to WinFrame(R) customers," said Mike
Schumacher, President of Lakeside Software. "Joining the Citrix Business
Alliance Program will allow us to further penetrate the thin-client/server
marketplace, an arena that Citrix has pioneered."
SysTrack is a software package for Windows NT-based systems. SysTrack is
the first software package to provide resource billing, real-time and
historical diagnostics, application load analysis, and user tracking for
Citrix WinFrame thin-client/server software and Windows NT Terminal Server
Edition.
"We are pleased to welcome Lakeside to the Citrix Business Alliance
Program," said Barry Davis, director of alliance marketing for Citrix. "With
top resellers and vendors present at the Citrix reseller conference, Lakeside
has chosen the right event to preview their latest software."
SysTrack is made up of three primary components. A data collection agent
is loaded on each Windows NT-based server to be monitored. Each data
collection agent stores data records into the second component, an ODBC-
compliant database. SysTrack supports most popular desktop and client/server
database packages. The third SysTrack component reads and analyzes data from
the database, providing easy-to-use reports and graphs to the end user.

Features
Construct Billing Reports. SysTrack monitors utilization of essential
system resources. CPU, memory, connect time, and other metrics are stored in
an ODBC database. The system administrator can set fees for resources
consumed. SysTrack then constructs reports by user or cost center that show
resources used, session start time, elapsed time, applications executed, and
costs.
Analyze Users. SysTrack can show the sessions that a user has started.
Clicking the session allows the administrator to see the applications that ran
in it. Another click shows a user's favorite applications, ranked by use
count. Still another click shows the percentage of time that applications
were actually in use (as opposed to just loaded).
Analyze Applications. SysTrack analyzes applications too. SysTrack can
help the administrator find out how much CPU an application needs. It can
also analyze memory requirements. SysTrack can show the administrator the
maximum number of concurrent application licenses thatare being used for each
application.
Diagnostics. Given a date/time in the past two weeks, SysTrack can tell
the administrator what applications and users were running. It can show
system, disk, and network statistics too.
Real-time Monitoring for Help Desks. SysTrack lets help desks know about
problems before users start calling. Over 30 status indicators are analyzed
and reduced to green, yellow, or red status. Click the "Advice" button and
SysTrack's built-in expert will help explain the problem and possible
solutions.

Pricing and Availability
Lakeside Software's SysTrack software package will be begin shipping on
May 10, 1998. The manufacturer's suggested retail price is $1,495 per
monitored server.
