Well, in that case, I'll talk about my feelings.

I'm pretty damn angry today. The powers that be in our community have declared that it is time to redevelop a cozy little strip mall that's practically next door, and the 65 cozy little bungalows behind it, into a hideous commercial retail mall that will probably be anchored by a K-Mart and one of those do-it-yourself car washes with the amazing bubble wand.

Now don't get me wrong. I'm all for enhancing the tax base of my community when the establishments are needed. But within a half mile of this proposal there lies probably the largest shopping mall in the state of Missouri and a recently opened, TIF financed retail amalgam that is anchored by one of those Target Greatland stores. So now they want to build another monstrosity across the street, and, adding insult to injury, my favorite place to partake of the sweet nectar otherwise known as Budweiser has to be torn down to do it. Not to mention a Kinko's, a Baskin Robbins, and a Subway shop. All in the name of progress.

Traffic is already a nightmare and only promises to get worse. I'm not an activist or a troublemaker but you can bet I'll be at the public hearings on this one. At least they aren't tearing my house down.
