Rick, Loaded in this case would mean ground to the test size and placed in the test column(a vertical column to simulate the leach bed, with a spray head at the top, and collection funnel at the bottm and a pump to circulate it and a test point to drwa off samples from time to time.).
Usually once in the column they start the test. If they are not accelerating it thermally or with a finer grind, it might take a few months to get the curve drawn.

Rick, "they did say that the columns were loaded a week ago."

As usual this statement could be read several ways;

1)the columns were loaded a week ago (as in last week they said it was filled..who knows when)
2)the columns were loaded a week ago (as in filled)
3)the columns were loaded a week ago (as in big assay number)

These guys are good. I once had a manager who could answer a question in such a manner that when he was done I often found it necessary to ask if it was "yes or no". He could learn something from this crew.
