SoftQuad statement issued today on Live Database Pages. Softquad Inc. today announced a significant update to its previously announced HoTMetal Live Database Pages product strategy. By introducing server-side functionality to HoTMetal web authors, LDP's enabled web developers to quickly create simple forms-based applications that included rapid database creation, data entry forms, query creation, and reporting. A parallel research & development stream has resulted in the recent announcements of the HotMetal Application Server (HMAPPS), HoTMetaL Markup Language (HMML) and HoTMetaL Power Pack. The combination of these new products provide a superior architecture, greater flexibility, and vastly increased functionality. The HoTMetal Power Pack includes a personal version of the HoTMetal Application Server which provides a complete "off-line" development and testing environment for web developers. It also includes a library of Quick Apps, which provide developers with easily customizable applications that can readily be embedded in their web sites. The original functionality of Live Database Pages will be included in the next release of HotMetal Quick Apps. The HoTMetal Power Pack will be available as a free download from our website at www.softquad.com.
