TO ALL: In re-reading my post #20029, it occurred to me that could be read as having an anti-Christian tone. I apologize if anyone was offended. It was not meant to be anti-Christian; it was meant to be anti-fanatic.

Thanks James, for stating the obvious about Emile and his hatred. Does everyone know now that the early Christians were all Jews, and that it was some time before they finally broke away? The Bible becomes more and more hostile to Jews as the early Christians realize that the Jews will not accept Christ as their king. Unfortunately, this bitterness turned into hatred, and throughout history the Jews were wrongly accused of almost everything under the sun.

Carol shared this url on the PBS program on Jesus already, but I will do so again if anyone missed it. It is full of explanations by theologians of what the early Christians were really like. The section on early Christian women is not to be missed--it explains how Jesus was a feminist, and early Christian women were very strong and capable, and how the Bible was actually altered later to conceal this. Of course, then we move rapidly into the Dark Ages, and we know what the Christians did to the poor pagan women in Europe during the Inquisition, all based on lies about women.
