On Monday, April 13, the Chicago Board
Options Exchange (CBOE) will list LEAPS(R) (Long-term Equity AnticiPation
Securities(R)) on Gateway 2000, Inc. (ticker symbol GTW). With the addition
of Gateway 2000, Inc., CBOE will list a total of 150 LEAPS on highly
capitalized, actively traded equities.
Gateway 2000, Inc. LEAPS will have strike prices of 35, 40, 45, 50 and 55
with expirations in January 1999 (ticker symbol VGB) and January 2000 (ticker
symbol LWB). (Note: strike prices are subject to change based on the price
of the underlying security.)
Trading hours are 8:30 a.m. to 3:02 p.m. Chicago time.
Year-to-date volume in equity LEAPS for 1998 is 2.1 million contracts
(representing 210 million shares of stock).
CBOE also lists the following long-term index options: DJX LEAPS(R),
based on the Dow Jones Industrial Average(R); OEX LFAPS(R) and SPX LEAPS(R),
based on the S&P 100(R) and S&P 500(R) stock indexes; and LEAPS on the CBOE
Mexico, Russell 2000(R), Nikkei 300, CBOE Technology, CBOE Internet and CBOE
Oil indices. In addition, the Exchange lists LEAPS on interest rates.
