Glenn, I don't know--I guess I disagree.

Its whats nice about investing, one can put as little or as much of one's money where one's mouth is. I think it is risky to bet against this trend. Here is a recap of the figures since Relevant Knowledge has been posting the most 25 visited web sites on the net.

In September '97, AMZN had less than 1.770 million unique visits, since this is the
number of visits for site #25 on the list, and AMZN did not make the list of the top 25.

In October '97, AMZN was #25, with 1.894 million unique visits.

In November '97, AMZN had less than 1.870 million unique visits, since this is the
number of visits for site #25 on the list, and AMZN did not make the list.

In December '97, AMZN was #20, with 2.035 million visits. OK, the bears will say,
maybe this was an aberration due to holiday shopping.

In January '98, AMZN had less than 2.518 million visits, since this is the number of
visits for site #25 on the list, and AMZN did not make the top 25 list. (Of course,
January's visits could have exceeded Decembers and AMZN might not still make the
list).

In February '98, AMZN was #20, with 4,323 million visits. The February data were
released on 3/9/98. This is the day when the stock rose 6 3/4 points to close at 83 1/2.

And then today, after the market closed, AMZN was #18 with 4.8 million visits.

Why do you think there would not be a pretty consistent correlation between web site visits and sales revenues?

Also of interest, when the February data was posted, the stock went up 6 3/4 points. Of course this was the exact same day that Clinton made his speech about limiting state taxes on internet commerce, so maybe that increase had nothing to do with the RK data. Likewise, the increase in AMZN's price tomorrow may be in sympathy with Yahoo, and have nothing to do with RK's data today.

From a broader view, this stock keeps rising in defiance of many threatening events. Insider sales were unlocked in November. Insiders sold. The stock went up. BKS and 1000 other on-line competitors were supposed to doom AMZN. Not yet.

The 23rd will be entertaining.

Best Regards,
Tom D
