Trey, I'm VERY excited to see thestreet.com's rationale for declaring Dan Niles of all people "the axe" on Compaq. They're also profiling another alleged CPQ axe as well.

Interesting that Niles' coverage includes box-makers CPQ, DELL and MUEI as well as semiconductor stocks like AMD, ALTR, XLNX INTC, LSI, MCHP, TXN, VLSI, XLNX. He's a real "dual-threat" <g>

Oh, and by the way, thestreet.com reports that "it's chic to deride analysts".

Chic?

Dressing in a zoot suit and dancing to a neo-retro swing band - that's chic.

Criticizing analysts when the majority of the financial press bends over and spreads 'em - I wouldn't call that chic.

I'd call it picking up the ball that a co-opted financial media establishment has dropped.

Good trading,

Tom
