Re -- Actually Jerry did refer to laptops. He said that at least one tier one account was making K6 laptops. Pay more attention next time.

Actually, you need to take your hype to the private thread.

Jerry said they weren't focussed on laptops and would have them by the end of the year. He also said that CPQ was using laptops, but there were none going to be produced at the MegaFlop (tm).

Kevin, re <making K6 laptops> Just back from Best Buy.
The Compaq K6-233 and P233-MMX are bolted side-by-side.
Plus MediaGX notebook. I set up a 3-D pipe screen saver
on both Pentium and K6 notebooks to the same settings.
Funny thing: K6 completes the pipe painting and starts
over in 13-15 seconds while Pentium does the same in
20-22sec. That is at least 30% faster, even hard to
believe myself. He-he, side-by-side, all the rest was
the same.
