0'49'er -

I've always despised Clinton but I prefer Clinton with a Republican congress to Bush and maybe even Reagan with a democrat congress. It keeps all the damn leftists from howling in our faces day and night, and the republicans, and even Clinton, being reasonable and intelligent men we can actually get a few things done.

Despite all his failings I give Clinton credit for giving us Bentson and then Rubin, plus keeping Greenspan. When I reflect that we could have a man such as Jimmy Carter in office instead I shudder. For heavens sake, if Saint Jimmy had been reelected we'd all be living in the damn gulags by now.

your's - Tom

.........And some of our Islamic friends care for us not at all - gimme a break! This has been a pretty tolerant string up to now - now we seem to be entering into the great sermon, moral rectitude, preachy, preachy stuff. Let's get back to gold, gold and more gold.

Here, here. Not often we agree but the sleazeball in the White House is one of those times. Unfortunately, I think Becker is right about the Republicans not having the guts to push impeachment unless the evidence is so overwhelming and solid that even the Demos can't defend it. I'm afraid Starr can't get that kind of evidence unless Lewinsky flips and tells all, including attempts to obstruct justice.

Even Dick Morris is now talking about the Clinton team of '92 using the Palladino PI firm to track down women that were likely to tell of their affairs with Slick and then intimidating them or bribing them into silence. Nothing is too low for this slimeball.

He'll never resign and Starr has to have THE smoking gun or he'll slither along and finish his term.
