I'll be honest, I can't pick exact tops and bottoms. Mostly I get in too late and get out too soon. I try and calculate my return based on a time factor, not on a % alone. for example, I got out of half of my June 35 calls about 2 weeks ago at 5 for a double. "should have held" but now I have half of them left and it is the house's money. I really can't tell exactly where the spike will be. I will watch for a spike and make my best estimate. A double in less than 30 days is good. A double in 2 weeks is great. A double in one day (like the Apr 40s from yesterday) is fantastic. I always miss part of the move. I have learned to live with it. I look for a move up to around 43. I have no idea what will happen short term after earnings. I'll probably sell my apr 40s too soon. I'll probably hold on to the July 35s a little longer. A buddy of mine has June 35s at 2 1/2 and wants 10. God bless him, he will probably get it, (maybe he did today, I'll have to check) but I would have been out already.
