MAX 4000 Series
Product Description
The MAX 4000 Series is capable of supporting (64) HDLC processors with the standard software. Additional HDLC processors can be added with an option module.
The standard MAX 4000 Series chassis includes the following hardware:
 (2) (MAX 4002) or (4) (MAX 4000 and 4004) T1/E1 interfaces with integrated CSUs
 (1) Ethernet (AUI or 10Base-T)
 (1) serial V.35 interface
 (1) RS-232 console port (DB-9)
The standard MAX 4000 Series chassis includes the following software:
 Provides support for RADIUS (Remote Authentication Dial-In User Service)
 Java Based Ascend Configurator
Optional Software for the MAX 4000 Series includes:
 Remote Networking Software
 Virtual Private Networking
 Secure Access Firewall
 Selectools (ISP connection software)
 NavisAccess Software Option
If unspecified, T1 units will ship with the standard T1 software load. Other software loads can either be specified with the order or can be downloaded from Ascend's FTP site.
