I'm not condemning him for his view just the lack of support. But you are right, I normally just go past, but today I have digressed. I think it was JP that did it to me. Thanks for pointing it out.

Greg

To Thread:

I'm sorry to be late to this austere gathering! I had to make some 'purchases', if you catch my 'drift'! (Ah yes, that -upward- drift!)

I hope that it continues!

If everyone on this thread would 'get off their soap boxes' and 'put their BULL/BEAR hats on the rack' for a little discussion, while we wait for the market reaction to MD's comments.

What the heck is happening to the market? I didn't see the upward 'tick' after DELL split, but it was there with LU. DELL has performed better than others, and I suppose that that the lackluster tech stock performance can be blamed on the 'Asia Flu' and the 4Q channel stuffing of some of the other bigs. While the 'Asia Flu' was new, the 'channel stuffing' is not a new scheme. Do you think that the merger between CPQ-DEC may have had too much negative action on the rest of the stocks? If so, why can't the investment houses recognize this?

What is it with the 'experts' opening with a SELL DELL? If they are just beginning to 'watch' the stock, make that announcement, and gradually take a position.

DELLs fundamental model continues to work well, so why do there seem to be so many 'experts' forecasting the 'end' of the model? This model (IMHO) will only be 'changed' if something better comes along! I don't expect DELL to say, "Well, this is it! Can't be any better! So I'll quit trying to improve it!" IMHO, it ain't gonna happen! The model will get better, and MD will make it so!

Besides the 400-450Mhz CPU's and CHROME display coming, what else does anyone see that will boost demand? I think that the SCSI and USB will definitely integrated since it represents a 'wider' and 'faster' path for the CPU. Wider busses for the new RDRAM and higher speed 'motherboards' will help, but what could be developed 'beyond' this?

Well, I will post this, and check my 'stock quotes'!

Comments, anyone?

Regards,

Ken
