TM...
I think the double bottom was formed, with less volume on the way down from the initial rally...however, other points should be considered...

The lower volume as of late could be people waiting on the sidelines for earnings.

The tech sell-off has taken its toll on CPQ already, it all lies in the hands of INTC & CPQ now, notice the former reports after the market on April 14th, and the latter before the market opens on the 15th....that is ground zero for the Naz and the techs, it should be make or break time, we either repeat history emulating past tech sell-offs, or we may start a long sad summer....tax due on that day is giving me the chills.

I've never sold a losing position in a big cap without regretting it a couple of months later...I am holding this time, hope I hit it right.

Long CPQ.

Hang tough, sit tight, wait till merger goes through. So I'm told. CPQ is the 5th largest computer maker, a big cap stock with a P.E. ratio
of ~15.75 and an earnings ratio of ~20 per cent with a valuation ratio of $46.75. When the deal with Digital finalizes it will be right behind the leader which I think is IBM. Right now CPQ is putting pressure on it's competitors just like INTC is doing to some of it's competitors. Sure it's going to hurt but in the long run it will gain market share. Dumping all the old inventory was a smart move, getting cash is king. If other smaller less known company's can loss money and watch their stock go up so can CPQ. Don't forget when CPQ merges with DEC it will also get a sizable cash and equity position. On a side note I heard a rumor that INTC has to pay
DEC a royalty for every chip they make using Alpha technology.

Just my opinion

Thanks,
Merlo
