Mobile Trading......Wireless Internet.......Trading Software How many monitors? Depending upon how many slots you want to use up. You can have several monitors utilizing multimonitor cards. If you want 16 monitors running off the one computer, buy 4 cards each supporting 4 monitors. You may need an extra couple of eyes to watch all those screens! As for software and being a mobile trader, check out Data Broadcasting Corp's Stock Edge or DBC Online. (Nasdaq: DBCC). I'm actually very bullish on this stock right now. They offer the real time data feed including time/sales, charts, and level II for only $79/month. They offer wireless internet connection so you can trade in your car, out in a boat, or driving your tractor. This would be your best bet for trading on the go. I'm currently paying $250 a month for my real time data but as soon as my contract expires I'm moving to DBCC's ONLINE products. Some brokerage firms have entered into agreements that if you make a certain amount of trades/month (something like 5) they pay for the DBCC product (Stock Edge or Signal Online). Read their last few announcements regarding AT&T for details and web sites about getting the modem for wireless internet and their trading products. As for software to use for your big trading machine, you'll still need the services of DBCC. They own Signal and BMI that broadcast all the financial data to run the various premier software packages. Contact DBCC and they can send you info on all the various premier software pacakges out there. Then you can contact the vendors and ask them the hard questions about what you want to do. My data comes over the cable and runs TradeWinds Software. If you want to monitor 10,000 stocks and do a lot of math calculations and such, you will need this premier data broadcast along with the ONLINE broadcast to trade on the go or at work. DBCC major backer is Travelers Group which is merging with Citicorp. DBCC also owns 50% of CBS MarketWatch, the 3rd most used internet stock research place on the www. This may help you understand why I'm bullish on the stock. How long do you wait to upgrade? Good question. That computer ZeusPaul listed above looks pretty good. I think you could go through the products and design your own. That gives you a good start. Air Media? Been there done that. For stock news it isn't sufficient. DBCC offers the news for additional costs. You can't get around DBCC. They are everywhere and offer the services you need. Give them a call. Now on to deciding what computer components to use......
