Jane, the dictionary is not a religious document. It is unemotional and not pejorative--it simply defines words. While I am not disputing the definition of "heathen", I believe it is rude to call people that, especially simply because they are not Christian. That horribly racist word that starts with an "N" is in my dictionary, and so is the "F" word, and yet it is not acceptable to use them, because they are either too graphic for polite company, or insulting and condescending.
