Diamond Multimedia Systems Inc. (DIMD - news). said Thursday it expects to face some pricing pressure during the second quarter. The company's first quarter results, a net profit of $7.9 million, or $0.22 per diluted share, came in a few pennies ahead of the latest Wall Street consensus forecast of $0.19. The shares closed at 14-5/8. DIMD was $12 1/8 (-$2 1/2) last I checked. Seems to be joining fellow modem makers HAYZ, GVIL, and BOCI as under $5. Perhaps 3COM was NOT SO STUPID buying what MAY be the ONLY client-side modem maker left standing after the dust clears! CAN YOU SAY THE NAME MONOPOLY? o~~~ O
