Off Topic. I know Lake Oswego well, Stitch. It is a beautiful suburb, which I recall for its heavily Douglas Fir treed roads and avenues. I travelled through Washington and Oregon for many years in the early 70s. In fact some of our equipment which we sold to Weyerhauser was lost on Mt. St. Helens during the erruption (somewhat north of your fair City).

I had friends in Vernonia, who treated me to my first taste of crayfish. Lots of good memories too.

Many years ago I was on a sales trip to a remote logging camp in northern British Columbia. I was meeting with the woods manager, who took a radio call and discussed some mechanical problems. I don't recall the word he used, but when he finished the call I asked him what part of Oregon he was from. He was astounded that I pegged him as an Oregonian as he had been in Canada for twenty-some years. As I said, I don't recall the one word he used, but I had only heard it pronounced that way in Oregon.

I'll watch for your accent in your postings!

Enjoy your trip to Japan.

Regards,

John
