The real farce in all of this is that most of the advertising revenue that these internet companies are getting comes from internet companies. This money in turn comes from stock prices. If you take all of the internet companies combined and figured out the net earnings for the group, counting only money that comes from end user customers, or from non internet companies that have real earnings of their own, then i guarantee the group as a whole continues to be in the red. Untill this changes then the whole things is an extremely elaborate pyramid scheme where even the earnings are coming from 'greater fools' or in the lingo of the thread 'bigger idiots.'

Jack, if you are referring to the latest Mecklermania Value Website Index then you are right ... AOL's PMV did drop in the last weekly comparison. But then so did Yahoo's and Excite's. I think it is more important that the unique users increased for AOL from Feb to March by 25.53% !!(a number that could well be understated according to the report). I have every confidence that the management are well aware of what they must do to retain their market share. Who knows ... maybe they will buy SEEK !. We all take what we want from these reports, and at this point in time I don't see anything too disturbing..... time will tell ! Good trading/investing Stephen
