800 Travel Board Confirms Commitment to Internet and '800' Customer Service
TAMPA, Fla., April 9 /PRNewswire/ -- 800 Travel Systems, Inc. (Nasdaq: IFLY - news) announced today that at its first meeting since the completion of its initial public offering, its Board of Directors confirmed the Company's commitment to its strategy of providing personal customer service through its ''800'' numbers and authorized management to develop an interactive travel reservation service over the internet to complement the Company's existing web page.

800 Travel Service is among the 100 largest independent travel agencies in the United States with 145 reservation agents at its Tampa, Florida, and San Diego, California facilities. At its meeting Tuesday, the Board directed Mark Mastrini, the Company's President, to engage an independent Human Resources expert to assist in the Company's efforts to increase the number of its reservation agents while improving the quality of its agents. The Board also directed Mr. Mastrini to improve the Company's internet reservation service to make it a more integral part of the Company's business.

Mr. Mastrini commented that, ''800 Travel Systems remains committed to providing personal customer service through its 800 numbers and will seek to increase its revenues in the immediate future by adding to its staff of reservation agents. Nevertheless, I am gratified by the Board's confirmation of my belief that by combining the interactive capabilities of the internet with live agents the Company will be able to provide a superior service assuring itself a place in the travel reservation industry.''

800 Travel Systems, which successfully completed its initial public offering in January 1998, provides low-priced airline tickets for domestic and international travel through its easy to remember toll free numbers, ''1-800-Low-AirFare,'' 1-800-569-2473, and ''1-800-Fly-4-Less,'' 1-800-359-4537.

Just got off the phone from one of my former employees at a steel plant, I ask him what the price per ton for tire rims was going for and he said anywhere between $110-130. Used tire rims are melted down along with other scrap to produce all types of steel. What a business this is (GMTID) you pay them to take your used tires and I am sure it's more if the rim is still on it and then they sell the rim and the rubber.
