Here is the announcement of the contract Good trading Thursday April 9, 11:44 am Eastern Time Newbridge wins Cable and Wireless deal TORONTO, April 9 (Reuters) - Newbridge Networks Corp. has been named global key supplier for the Cable and Wireless group of companies, the company said on Thursday. The agreement will be worth more than 200 million pounds to Newbridge over the next five years, a spokesman said. ''This is for Cable and Wireless's broadband network, which they will be installing worldwide. The overwhelming majority goes to the MainStreet Express product line,'' said Newbridge spokesman Paul Goyette. Cable and Wireless and Newbridge Networks are expected to announce orders stemming from this agreement in the near future, Newbridge said in a statement. On Wednesday, the statement about the Cable and Wireless deal was mistakenly released early on Newbridge's website, causing a spike in the company's stock price.
