I have to agree with you on that one, Burt ... If I was a customer (like
Compaq), I would want to conduct a "quality audit" of AMD's Fab(s). Does
AMD have adequate process control/monitoring and how do they transfer
processes from Sunnyvale to Austin ... If I couldn't get these answers, then
I would get a second source setup ... like parts from IBM !!

The K6 design was not tailored to AMD's production eq....it was purchased....virtually completed...when AMD bought out NexGen.
