>Funny, I thought you started investing when you were 5 years old?

18 years old... the summer before I started college.

I used to play tennis bigtime and was intent on turning pro. But then I had a really really really bad tournament one week (was seeded high but lost in the 1st round to some no-name scrub) and I realized that even if I turned pro and made a ton of money, I would never be #1 in the world. So I quit tennis and became really depressed and such... For most of the summer, I sat on the couch and ate Ice Cream Sandwiches. My parents were very worried about me, which is mainly why they were eager to allow me to start investing a little money when I showed interest. Of course I used to play tennis and condition for 6-7 hours per day, so I had a lot of time to fill (unfortunately, investing took all that plus a lot more--I spend about 16 hours per day on it).
