Herb, re FUD: all we can do is to never trust ONE source
in isolation. This even holds true for stock quotes (unless
they come from your broker).

Herb, that kind of FUD is definitely reprehensible. But let me give you my opinion about dissenting opinions, whether they be shorts or longs. You should not discount their opinion just because it is different than your own. If they begin to make really stupid statements and denigrate others, then feel free to completely ignore them.

I personally take special care to listen to people who disagree with me, just in case my reasoning is not sound. If a thread has only one opinion on it, then what value is it. The chearleading may pump up your ego, but it won't help you invest or avoid mistakes.

Now in the case of that FUD guy, he knew what he was posting was false and even though he did it as a joke, he knew others may not realize it was a joke. Therefore, that was a stupid thing to do.

Enough said.
