re: Option Commissions.

E*Trade's Commissions are $20 + $1.75/contract.

I think Fidelity's are about that also.

Discover (old Lombard) charges $30 per option order. That is the minimum commission. I've never bought more that 15 contracts at a time and have never been charged more than $30 regardless of the option's price.

BAZ,
Tahe a look at:http://www.tradepbs.com I have been using them for a while and, while sometimes slow, they have the best rates that I have seen: $1.75/contract($15 minimum). Works for me

Fidelity is 20 base, plus 1.75/contract. As well, if you are short calls, you can buy them back (any number of contracts) for a flat-fee of $15. That's real cool for buy/writers who want to cover.

For example, if you have 6000 shares of stock and you write 60 contracts for 1, (commissions would be $125), you can then cover (if appropriate) if the contracts are at any price below 5/8 for one price of $15 for any or all of those 60 calls.
