You could well be right ... And I agree there is something "fishy" going
on with the declining revenue (from Q4'97) and increasing manufacturing
costs (increasing COS from Q4'97). Makes me think that AMD is "throwing
away" a lot of silicon.

They had a lot of problems on 0.35um, but claim to have solved them on the new process. The vast majority of finished wafers that came out of fab 25 in Q1 were 0.35, while at the same time they continue installing 0.25 equipment. This is most likely responsible for the flat unit numbers.
