These are the specs from Iomega's web site: ZIP - ATAPI Performance Average seek time: 29 milliseconds Sustained transfer rate: up to 11.2 Mbits/sec (1.4 MB/sec) Burst transfer rate: up to 26.7 Mbits/sec (3.3 MB/sec) Typical throughput: up to 84MB/min Rotational speed: 2941 RPM ZIP - SCSI Performance Average seek time: 29 milliseconds Sustained transfer rate: 1.40MB/sec. maximum 0.79MB/sec. minimum Typical throughput: SCSI model: up to 60MB/minute Rotational speed: 2945 RPM The ZIP parallel is allot slower. I find my ZIP SCSI is pretty damn fast for a floppy. And suits my needs well.
