A lot of the Diamond volume was driven by sales of boards based on the 3Dfx 3D only Voodoo chipset. These 3D boards were targeted at the enthusiast gamers and did fabulously. I recall Diamond had the highest selling retail graphics SKU for three months in a row, maybe longer. Diamond and Creative and I think STB have got the next step all set with their Voodoo2 chipsets. Very slick product for a lucrative segment. Voodoo rules the maniacal power gamer space.

Phil,
Compare ATI (ATY.to) to DIMD is not a fair comparison. DIMD should compared to CREAF and possibly STB. Diamond fell almost 20% because it is expecting some price pressure. That make it much less attractive since last two quarters, DIMD's net profit margin is only a few percents (less than 5%)! Not much room for price-cut.
