Techart, Something I've learned is that most people who buy options lose money. Therefore, it isn't always wise to use options volume as an indicator of potential stock price movement. I've tried this before and ended up losing money. Plus, the really smart options players would be buying in the money 35's. If there were really anything going on short term, I think you'd see more activity on the April's anyway. I would be really surprised if this had to do with an earnings announcement which isn't for three more weeks.

But I agree with you that 1906 contracts is definitely a rather large volume for May 40's considering that the open interest was only 374. I'm pretty sure the open interest that I'm seeing doesn't reflect these trades. Interesting to note is that these options were all done in five trades so it isn't someone small.

So maybe there is something to the PSFT rumor(or something else is up) after all since vntv options are not what I consider to be heavily traded options comparatively speaking. The way I figure it either someone is stupidly speculating or someone knows something that we don't. I guess we'll just have to wait and see. Thanks for sharing the info though.
