They are studying vents in Yellowstone Park that have life living in them near the boiling point. They live off chemical reactions that don't require sunlight and are supposedly some of the oldest on earth. Some scientists feel that these types of organisms produced our oxygen rich atmosphere. There is more biodiversity in one pool than in a rain forest.
