CJ remains on top as LKON powers upward to a 71.4% gain, making me wonder why I'm wasting my time on a stock contest instead of buying LKON.

Not only is the eom/DeMelle tie broken, but each one's head is spinning rapidly as Gary races to the end of the line, winding up in 64th place with DGIV and GBIT earning him a 15.2% loss.

Ascend Communications (ASND) 39 13/16 -7/8: networking products company reports 4th qtr net of $0.26 a share, a penny above the First Call mean view. ASND earned $0.31 in the yr-ago. Quarterly revenues rose 4.1% to $305 mln; sees strong demand for network backbone systems for the remained of FY98; sees strong growth in consumer segment of business.
