COMPAQ COMPUTER CORP said it reduced prices on selected network
server and workstation computers as well as on several other
products. Compaq said it lowered the base price of its ProLiant
1600 server models by 6% and cut prices on server memory by up to
36%. Priced for server hard drives were reduced by up to 22%, the
company said. The company said it also lowered the price of some
of its Professional Workstation models by 11%-17% and cut prices
on a variety of networking products. (Reuters 03:28 PM ET
