The actual site is below the sternal notch. The sternal notch is the indentation at the top of the breastbone that the paramedics will use for locating the correct insertion site.

Re. reverse engineering - if you explore the Pyng web site, you'll see that David Johnson and Judy Findlay used to teach in this area, so they know the ins and outs of patent protection. And you can believe that a guy like Michael Jacobs, with years in the plastics manufacturing business, isn't going to let his baby get stolen away from him.
