My great uncle was mayor of San Jose during the "earthquake of 1907". My father still has one of his Broadsides that was posted all over downtown San Jose. "Looters and arsonists will be shot...By Order of the Mayor, Sam Worswick".

Since you are almost a local Bonnie... I wonder if this scenario will be repeated when the excesses of the the ribald liquidity driven... markets 90's are unwinding?

Oddly, I have come lately to think that this is just the first leg of the big, big bull market! All markets are driven by liquidity. When japan begins to sink...and sink and sink more ask yourself where is all this moribund money going to go.

You guessed it. Here. Japan has more tourists that come to the US than any ohter country. Much of their popular culture is generated here. The coutnry of choice will be AMERICA!!!

Fade up the studio cheers, clapping.

My bet here is on the big caps.

I have spent my week end thinking.

What are your thoughts threadsters?

The market has no memory. It always lives in next week.

But at the end, whenever that comes, a lot of yen and dollars are destined for money heaven... that place of gossamer dreams in an azure pitch blue sky.... where ever car ever made, every model is brand new and never rusts, where old money meets new money.... Welcome to money heaven... the never young/the never old land of monetary values that no longer exist.
