I never said DHEA was cytotoxic. Only that any attempts to significantly increase it's effects through synthetic analogs could be. DHEA is a ubiquitous hormone. Why would it be any different than interferon induced antiviral responses which also held promise at one time but failed to deliver? I am not an expert on DHEA but the last thing I heard about it was it was also supposed to be a "cure" for aging. Any time I hear claims like these, the scam artists are surely not far behind ready to cook up another miracle cure. Everybody has DHEA throughout their bodies and it does go down with age. If it protects against HIV, then why doesn't it do so without any human intervention?
