It's amazing how obviously people are putting a spin on the quarter based on their predispositions. I have no idea what's coming Monday because I think that while the results were good, the run up in the stock price the last couple of weeks may already discount it. I'm beginning to think however that 38 or so will prove to be a key point of downside resistance.

Possibly I'd be as concerned with the B-T-B being an unspecified amount greater than 1; did they actually give a number or just indicate tha tit's greater than 1? If the latter that's an interesting ambiguity since it could be significantly greater than 1 but they don't want to say, or it could be a middling amount.

OTOH as several have commented certain new products have not been recognized in Q1 revenues and we know there are some very substantial deals already anounced with more in the works. Future guidance from Ashby et al will be interesting to read.

Jack, I'm a long-time ASND holder, and you'll pardon me for saying so, but the numbers didn't look that great to me. I particular, I was disturbed by only a 4% rise in revenues and a drop in gross margin year over year. Didn't that bother anyone else?
Regards,

Paul

Not at all! At least it does not bother me because:

1. ASND has a lot of NEW LARGE Carrier Class Contracts coming and in the works (but management is not allowed to talk about futures specifically)

2. ASND has major new high end products that have not even started to come online from a revenue perspective. That will happen during this next quarter.

3. ASND has major technological differences between their equipment and anyone even close to them. They have carved out a niche market, with best in class products, and their niche has become main stream.

4. Oh yeah... all the other major "networkers" are producing earnings reports where the investment community hears all of the air rushing out of the room, and they (the investors) are left suffocating in a vacuum. -- in other words, their earnings suck!

Paul,

I didn't like the no. I was expecting .27 but wanted to be surprised. What happened to 10% sequential growth? Now they are comfortable with $1.15? No way!

I see Ascend trading below 35 again soon. I'm buying puts Monday if we hit anything between 43-45.
