Dave,

Because spot silver prices are so variable, I will simply provide you with figures on the amount of pure silver in each of the Canadian coins you indicated, and let you do the math.

The following figures represent ounces of pure Ag per coin, assuming coins dated 1920 to 1967. For coins issued prior to 1920, simply increase the pure silver content by 15% (although such coins will generally command a numismatic value well above bullion value.) Note also that heavily worn coins will have a reduced silver content.

10c------0.06
25c------0.15
50c------0.30
$1-------0.60 (from 1935)

Good luck,
RB

Dave: Re coin prices - YOU CAN CALL (888) 792-2646............
This is number for R.W. Bradford, a dealer in Washington. I
have used and believe to be honest. But, before you buy from
R.W, or ANY dealer - suggest you get at least three quotes.
(Dealers prices, of course vary with their cost - which depends
on when they bought),
Good luck.
Best and Happy Holidays to all.
Don

Dave, I hit the Wausau coin show today and picked up about $10 face worth of 80% silver Canadian dimes and Quarters. The dimes went for 36.5 cents US apiece and the quarters for 92 cents US apiece. Coin shows are good places to shop for junk silver here in Wisconsin because they are usually one or two day affairs and no sales tax is collected, at least by the small fries. Wisconsin law allows its citizens 3 days a year for garage sales and flea markets where they are not responsible to collect Wisconsin sales tax. --Alan
