I think RMIL will get the money on a Friday in the year 2387,
assuming of course my descendants are willing to part with a
whopping $10 million. I wonder if I can make that a condition
in my will???

How do I know the company will receive the money in the year 2387???

Simple I'll open a savings account with $100 that pays 3% interest
per year compounded yearly. By using the simple interest formula
and solving for y (number of years).

y*n
A = A (1+r/n)
0
y*1
10,000,000 = 100(1+.03/1)

y
100,000 = (1.03)
y
log 100,000 = log (1.03)
= y * log (1.03)

y = log 100,000 / log 1.03
y = 5 / .0128372
y = 389.49

1998 + 389.49 = 2387.49

I could have used Quicken, but it is fun every now and then to do the math by hand.

[edit: of course taking into account inflation 10,000,000 in 2387
will be worth $100 or less in today's present value after taking into
account inflation, but hey the company will have $10,000,000 then]
