It's an interesting school of thought but obviously foolish and ego-driven.

Which is precisely why one must be careful about market gurus, whether they be Elaine G. or Patrick S.

People get carried away with their own success, whether real or perceived. There is no way in hell I, for example, can influence the motion of the entire Stock Market. If you were to see me say that, I would hope you would come over and put a bullet through me, as I have obviously rounded the bend, so to speak.

Joe Granville has yet to learn that lesson. Fame is a difficult thing to manage. Your experience with SI posters lends you a clue to this.

EDIT My friend has been fully forewarned, make no mistake.
