Out of boredom, I was perusing a thread where not even agnostics (the most inoffensive of creatures, I would think) are allowed to post. And I ran across a prayer, which I decided to modify and post here, where ALL people, or all creeds are welcome. Of course I may not personally agree with your creed, everyone knows I have a special problem with intolerance, but I nightly pray to whatever God(s) there be (if there be God (s)) to make me more tolerant. ANY AND ALL DEITIES, IF YOU ARE OUT THERE, PLEASE HEAR US NOW. I PRAY FOR A DIVINE MIRACLE THAT THE EARS OF THOSE YOU HAVE IN MIND FOR ETERNAL LIFE (IF THERE IS ETERNAL LIFE) WITH YOU (IF YOU CARE TO HAVE US AROUND- AND I WOULD CERTAINLY UNDERSTAND IF YOU DID NOT) WILL BE UNPLUGGED SO THAT THEY CAN HEAR CLEARLY ALL THE VOICES OF CREATION- AND NOT MERELY THEIR OWN, AND HOWEVER YOU SPEAK, IF YOU SPEAK. WE PRAY FOR THOSE ON SI, AS THIS IS THE PLACE YOU HAVE PUT US, AND THIS IS THE PLACE YOU HAVE DRAWN THOUSANDS OF PEOPLE THAT CAN MAKE THEIR WAY HERE IF YOU SO LEAD THEM. WE PRAY THAT THE EARS OF THE DEAF BE OPENED NOW AND THEY BECOME TOLERANT AND LOVING TOWARDS THEIR FELLOW MEN, REGARDLESS OF CREED. WE ALSO PRAY THAT THE SCALES ON THE EYES OF THE BLIND WILL BE REMOVED SO THAT THEY CAN SEE THAT MEN ARE ALL MADE OF THE SAME CLAY, REGARDLESS OF THE GOD(S) THEY CHOOSE TO FOLLOW, AND THAT KINDNESS, COMPASSION AND LOVE ARE THE GREATEST STRENGTHS OF MANKIND. WE ASK DEITY OR DEITIES, IF YOU ARE OUT THERE, AND IF YOU HAVE ANY INTEREST IN US, THAT THE FIRST THING THEY SEE WHEN GIVEN THEIR SIGHT IS THE BEAUTY OF THEIR FELLOW MEN AND THE WONDROUSNESS OF THE UNIVERSE. THE SECOND THING WE SHOULD HOPE THEY SEE, IS THE LIGHT OF REASON, WHICH SHOULD HELP THEM TO FACE THE FIRST FACT.
