Guy, I am not much for targets, but Gateway is one I believe will not exist in 5 years. You never know when somebody really stupid will do a takeover, look at Citicorp and Travellers, but I don't see any buyers in this environment. CPQ suckered in on DEC and they are now paying the price on that bad move. Gateway would kill CPQ stock price. And I don't think anyone else is quite that hot to trot during a pc downturn.

Gateway is nowhere is cheap pcs and they are nowhere in upscale pcs. Some decent contracts with govt. and business and some sharp pencil shavings from the big writeoffs may let them make this quarter, but after that, le deluge.

Dell may have more than a few quarters to go. But I see them hitting the wall by this time next year. Either that, or every other boxmaker will be close to belly-up. The server market is in a glut and the high end just doens't have much appeal to the masses right now. They have knocked off nearly all the weak sisters, so I don't see where there growth comes from now. MB
