Jim, I don't really know what's going on with the California smoking ban. I and the other six cigarette-smokers in Northern California no longer frequent bars and restaurants very often now. We feel that to have dinner and drinks with no postprandial smoke borders on the barbaric and thus have refused to suffer this most heinous of indignities at the hands of the cruel California Legislature. BTW, I would not think of you as Archie Bunker. Archie Bunker, as portrayed, was an ignorant jerk and a slob. You seem more of a curmudgeon, say, in the manner of W. C. Fields' characters or perhaps Blanche's husband on the old Burns and Allen show. Hope this helps. Holly
